Yes. We’ve built the system so that you can internally moderate with others in your school and also collaborate with others from other schools. You can do this by inviting external moderators to moderate your class pupils or combining your school’s session with colleagues in other schools.
Do all teachers need an account to moderate or use the system?
All teachers and external moderators must have a WeModerate account to participate in a WeModerate session. If your school has an ‘Your School’ account, you’ll be able to internally moderate with colleagues. If your school has a ‘Beyond School’ account you’ll be able to collaborate with any other school with the same account
Can I use WeModerate for Year 6 SATs Writing Moderation
Absolutely. We originally built WeModerate to support Year 6 Moderation within and then beyond single schools. We’ve added the end of KS2 writing criteria to the system so that you can set up sessions within and beyond your school in a few simple clicks.
If I moderate with another school will my pupils be identifiable?
No. All pupils scripts will be entirely anonymous to the moderators during the moderation.
Do we moderate single pieces of work or portfolios?
Either. You can moderate single pieces of work or portfolios you have built up over time.
Can we use our own moderation criteria?
Yes. We’ve built in writing criteria for primary schools that include year 6 and also the DfE guidelines for standards at the end of KS2.
You can build your own criteria library for each of your descriptors/standards.
Can we use our own exemplars for each of the criterion?
Yes.
When you use the built-in criteria, you are given a choice to use our standardised exemplars or your own or just use the descriptive criteria to assess your writing.
